We are thrilled to share the story of Albion Street refurbishment, the proud winner of the Best Small Social Housing Development at the LABC Awards. This remarkable project has transformed a once-derelict building into much-needed homes for six families in West Sussex. Witnessing this building come back to life has been fantastic, and we are proud to have played a part in its success.
The refurbishment involved a pair of dilapidated semi-detached houses that were in very poor condition. The existing building had substantial cracking in several load-bearing walls, and the roof had been leaking for years, causing significant damage to the timber roof and floor structure. The project required the removal of main load-bearing walls, remodelling of the internal layout, and the introduction of a roof conversion that joined the two semi-detached houses together. These structural challenges were met with innovative solutions and expert advice.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our refurbishment project partners for their collaboration and expertise: Cheesmur Building Contractors, MGAC, Adur & Worthing Councils, and Cityzen Limited. Their dedication and skill were instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.
